Our Sixth Meeting

Ok, fellow audiophiles in the Las Vegas area and everywhere really (this is the world wide web after all,) the first audio club ever in Sin City, has now completed its sixth meeting!

We had our sixth meeting 2 Sundays ago, (which was 1-26-14)

This time LVAC member Dave hosted the affair, with his humble 2 channel system.

As usual, we had a great time listening to a variety of tunes (CD and LP) on Dave's system. We could have listened for quite a while as the system was smooth and non-fatiguing sounding. But it could roar like a lion when asked to do so. And of course, good food and drink were served. And once again, it was good times!

Right now we have 10 members, and we're looking for a few more good audiophiles in the Vegas area and beyond.

Again, meetings will be once a month.

So, don't be shy, we'd love to have you for the next meeting, and as of now it's still FREE to join!

Any questions? email us at: dave_a_2005@hotmail.com or motorcitydeadman@gmail.com

Photos of the system are below. Photos were taken by club member Barry.

Component of the Week: Accuphase P-4200 amplifier

Accuphase says this superb amp incorporates the design technology of their flagship Class-A amp, the mighty A-200. It sits at the bottom of the Accuphase Class A/B lineup. It also is in reach of more audiophiles than the more expensive models, but the sound is incredible, and certainly doesn't sound like it sits at the bottom of the line. Is it destined to become a landmark product? Time will only tell...

LVAC President and Founder Dave says: "I just heard this amazing amp in the Accuphase room at the 2014 CES. To put it mildly, I was bowled over by it! It's got great power and finesse, it is refined and delivers the dynamics in the music. It also sounds very much "live" and colorful. I couldn't believe that this was a Class A/B amp. It sounded much more like Class A. It sits at the bottom of the Accuphase A/B lineup, but it doesn't sound that way. Accuphase has a true winner here, and just wait for the reviews to come in! I can't imagine they will be disappointed in the wonderful product!"

Component of the Week: Concert Fidelity ZL-120V2SE monoblock amplifiers

Excellent (but expensive) solid-state monoblock amplifiers. They transcend all conceived notions of what High End Audio is all about. These amps are really something special. They leave you with nothing but the music, which is what it's all about. This was confirmed after careful listening at CES 2014. Hand-built and designed by Masataka Tsuda in Nagano, Japan, the amps have astounding build quality and are cool to look at too. Again, they are expensive, but when compared to other amps in this price range, it is really head and shoulders above those in build and sound quality.

LVAC member Tony says: "Sonically pure and transparent. Revealing, yet involving."

High praise indeed...

Price: $35,000 USD
